At Aging Services for Communities our Homemaker Services (home management) are available to individuals who are physically capable of overseeing their physical and personal care but who need some help from time to time. We've found that occasional assistance with light housework and other small tasks allow more seniors to remain living independently. They are able to stay in their own homes, where they are more comfortable, instead of having to move to assisted living facilities.
Aside from seniors, our customized Homemaker Services are becoming increasingly sought-after by families with disabled children. As a parent to a child with a disability you wear many hats – parent, caregiver, cook, housekeeper, financial advisor, and more. At ASC we can help alleviate some of the stress that comes with being a full-time caregiver while also trying to maintain a household.
Our Homemaker program at ASC relies on a hired staff of trained and qualified individuals to help with the following tasks:
Please notify us if you are on Medical Assistance programs offered by the County, including Elderly Waiver or the Alternative Care Grant.
There are times when short-term in home help is needed, at ASC we recognized that need and accommodate it through our short-term homemaker services. Our short-term services are often called upon by normally able-bodied individuals who simply need assistance after being discharged from the hospital following a severe sickness or surgery. We are able to provide cleaning, general home management, and run errands which can aid in the recuperation process.
At Aging Services for Communities we accept a variety of payment methods to ensure that those who need our services will be able to attain them one way or another. We accept a number of insurance plans from individuals seeking long-term care and who are on County Medical Assistance. Currently we work with BluePlus, DHS, Medica, MVAC, and UCare plans offered through the Counties we serve.
We also accept private pay for those not on medical assistance or who are seeking short-term care. Our private pay is setup at $35.00 per hour with a two (2) hour minimum. There is no sliding fee scale.
The Homemaker Services we offer are available to residents throughout our entire service area, including the counties of: Le Sueur, Rice, Scott, Dakota, and Brown.
If you find yourself in need of occasional assistance, contact Aging Services for Communities, we are here to help you remain independent in your own home.
